A trip to Dandeli should at least be between 4- 6 nights and 5-7 days so that it allows students to explore these activities curated for this module comfortably, with clear learning outcomes.

In the rafting activity, students will be briefed upon various aspects of rafting including safety measures, raft maintenance and grades by pioneers of this sport in India. The dam-controlled river Kali is one of the most scenic spots of this region and this activity will help the students to learn about teamwork and coordination. 

Dandeli is declared as a Hornbill sanctuary and has a substantial variety of both resident & migratory birds. A glimpse of the rare Black Leopard is an added incentive.

It also has inhabitants like king cobra, giant squirrel and a variety of mammals like the Tiger, Sloth bears, and Ungulate species, Jackals etc. The safari will introduce the students to various aspects of Dandeli forests and experience the varied bio-diversity that the evergreen forests offer.

This area is home to several tribal communities, such as the Sidhis, of African origin who came to India as slaves under the Portuguese, but escaped into the forests and established a settlement. This area is also home to the Gowli tribe which are semi-nomadic herd grazers, which is a self-sufficient community.

This activity involves an early morning adventure packed 6km trek through the forest to the caves dating back to pre-historic times. This is a limestone cave where students can observe formations like stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones.

These activities are a combination of team games such as treasure hunt as well as learn how to fish followed by the "Sounds of the Night' nature trail, where students will go on a night time walk to understand nocturnal species. 

This non-motorised activity will give students an opportunity to explore the riverine ecosystem without creating any disturbance. Still water kayaking is the learning ropes for white water sports and presents great opportunity to highlight other skills like balance, focus and self belief.

A one night camping experience where students will experience basic camp craft like how to set up a camp, lighting a fire, cooking et all. All of which can be turned into great life-skill learning experiences.

Camping will help us illustrate the importance of management, job delegation and respect for their peers. At a safe camp spot, the students will be taught to pitch their own tents, where they will be responsible for the food, the cleanliness of the campsite and its management. It reinforces bond amongst the peers apart from inculcating the aforementioned attributes.

One of the most amazing full day Jungle treks in all of India, where the students will descend down the valley in search of the waterfall that runs all round the year. This 8km trek takes one through dense tropical forest, meandering streams and amazing waterfalls. 

This trek also facilitates fauna tracking as another activity where students will learn how to track various animals through scat remains, track marks etc.
