Faculty Led Trips
1

One of the most impactful ways to learn is by exploring real-world problems. This module brings together students and subject-matter experts to co-develop field studies and projects that enhance environmental literacy and build essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

2

In the past, we have facilitated work in diverse areas such as wildlife and marine conservation, indigenous knowledge systems, urban geography, archaeology, art, and geological transformations. Each project encourages inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement with real-world issues—making the experience both academically rigorous and personally enriching.

With education systems worldwide increasingly adopting a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach, there are growing opportunities to engage students—across all age groups, including young adults—in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that build real-world skills and deeper understanding.

2

One such example is MYP Interdisciplinary Units (IDUs), which encourage students to make connections across subjects while exploring real-world issues through collaborative inquiry and project work.

India offers a rich and diverse landscape for faculty-led academic programs, with opportunities to explore a wide range of disciplines—including Environmental Science, History, Linguistics, Geography, Archaeology, Economics, and Art.

2

With our robust ground support and comprehensive risk management infrastructure, faculty can focus on delivering impactful, curriculum-aligned learning experiences, while we handle all logistics and safety. We collaborate closely with educators to craft programs that combine academic depth with cultural immersion, and provide access to relevant industry experts to further enrich the learning journey.

The Classroom, Reimagined

A curriculum based trip was organised for students who opted for environmental systems and societies as a subject at the IBDP level. Students got an opportunity to examine techniques that are prevalent for estimation of plant and animal species using methods like line transects and quadrants. Other aspects of the field trip included:

– Dynamics of tiger behaviour
– Basics of big game tracking
– Different stake-holders, their roles and responsibilities in tiger conservation.
– Understanding forests and animals

Curious Hathi Expeditions and its team were instrumental in identifying places and experts for the specific studies
